MRBLS: Anyway – Interview

Mario Belosevic AKA ‘MRBLS’ is a songwriter, producer and guitar player who started releasing records in 2021, inspired by the music of Eminem, Avicii and Ed Sheraan.

Behind the scene of ‘Anyway’ there is a heartbreak, the Covid-19 as well as a mixed of euphoric emotions who help him in staying positive.

“When people ask me how I always manage to stay positive, I just answer them that the key to happiness is to accept yourself,
to make the best out of every situation and focus on the good things in the bad”

YMX: Hey ‘Mario Belosevic’, how is it going? some of our readers might not be familiar with your project, how would you describe yourself, in a few words?

MARIO: I am Croatian guy living in Germany making all kinds of music

YMX: Your current work is the result of a long journey; What first drew you to making music?

MARIO: Back in the days, we used to travel to Croatia every vacation to my grandparents house. There I found my dad´s old guitar and instantly fell in love with making music. It took many years til I started producing it with FL Studio. Actually I started 2 years ago and had a lot of time during the pandemic to really get into it and improve my skills.

YMX: What would be your dream collaboration?

MARIO: Hard to answer, there are so many talented people out there. Making a beat for Eminem or having Ed Sheeran on one of my tracks would be the ultimate dream.

YMX: You recently released ‘Anyway’. Can you tell us how that project came about?

MARIO: “Anyway” started as an idea in my head late at night. Funny enough, the best ideas and melodies always come to my mind minutes before falling asleep. So I had to get up and compose it on my PC. I liked it so much that I finished it and found just the right vocals for the track, perfectly embracing the mood and emotions that I was going for.

YMX: What inspires your songwriting work?

MARIO: I am listening to so many different music genres that there always is enough inspiration 😉

YMX: We are all missing live music at the moment. Once on the other side, which music venue would you choose for your first gig?

MARIO: I would love to play in a big club, missing clubbing so much.

YMX: What’s your band strategy in terms of music promotion? Direct-2-fans or via the “big dogs”?

MARIO: Basically, I am doing everything by myself. Talking to people, making Facebook ads, tracking success and learning from failures.

YMX: Finally, what are your plans for the future? (releases, gigs etc.)

MARIO: For this year, I have 3-4 songs that I would love to release. Song ideas and framework are already composed 🙂
