Hailing from Amsterdam, rising pop outfit ANNNA wasn’t an unheard name to us. Featuring her single ‘Silver Spoons’ last summer, we had a chance to recognize and observe the incredibly musical value the singe brings with her. Today, ANNNA returns with a more extensive body of work, the EP ‘Mortgage On Toast’, fully showcasing her songwriting and production skills, and posing the cornerstone for a brilliant year.
Of Latvian and Dutch heritage, ANNNA is currently based in Amsterdam, where in 2019 she won the city’s Dance Event (ADE) demolition award, allowing her to experience a fantastic studio session with Dave Clarke and Mixmag Magazine. From there, the Dutch prodigy kept piling up milestones, becoming one of OOR.nl music magazine‘s talent of 2020.
‘Mortgage On Toast’ is a 5-track eclectic journey into the freshest realms of electronic pop, blended with slices of northern European dark electro; synth stabs, minimal beats, and a bouncy attitude: it’s hard to not be impressed by ANNNA’s artistic weapons. Pop music shines always through, even in the darkest production, thanks to memorable songwriting and cutting-edge melodies. ‘Sustainability, burnouts and equality’ are the lyrical imprint of the EP.
We are on it! Don’t miss ANNNA’s livestream, tomorrow at 11 am, where she will be performing the EP’s title-track while driving through a carwash.
