Poesy returns with glowing alt-pop single ‘Diamonds’

Hailing from Canada, we are pleased to host POESY, bringing us a touch of freshness and authenticity with her newest effort – and first this year – ‘Diamonds’, an exquisite alt-pop anthem.

Based in Toronto, Poesy can boast a highly successful curriculum, showcasing a rising trajectory with no intention of stopping anytime soon. Real name Sarah Botelho, she was first discovered by appearing on a hit Canadian talent show, captivation ears and hearts of millions among the public; from there, she was able to secure a record deal with Big Machine Record, and to collaborate with top-tier producer Sthepan Moccio (credits includes Avril Lavigne, Celine Dione).

Following up from the previous EP ‘Glass Box Confessional’, ‘Diamonds’ continues on the same mesmerising track, always functioning as a shop window for Poesy’s skilled and effective songwriting. Together with a powerful production, almost cinematic at times, the song shines of Poesy’s own lights, sealing the deal with silky, smooth vocals, always precise and expressive.

“Diamonds is at its core, a song about experiencing a dark time and trying to drag yourself through to the other side. It’s about the pressure you put on yourself that leaves you with dark inner turmoil. I’ve dragged myself out of that countless times so I hope Diamonds can do that for someone else. I called it Diamonds because they’re a substance that is made under huge amounts of pressure, but they’re also so valuable – just like we are. So be gentle with yourself…”
