Hailing from a musically fertile city, Leeds, Slowride is the indie-rock outfit of Ali Epston (vocals) and Phil Jones (guitar and synths). Teaming up with fellow musicians Tomas Oliver Moore (drums) and A-List producers Greenmount and Carpenter (Ellie Goulding, Awolnation), the band is now sharing their debut single, the indie-rock, pop-infused upbeat number ‘I Feel Like You’.
And what a start! The track is a light, exuberant, captivating piece of music. Blending 90’s indie and punk rock influences with contemporary synth lines, ‘I Feel Like You’ feels like a real testament to Slowride’s future. A successful one, their music has true potential to reach wide and far in the music industry landscape. About the song, Ali Epstone explains: “I Feel Like You,” is about feeling powerless about being controlled. In the context of a relationship, an addiction or the censorship of free speech… It’s about awareness of one’s situation and learning to take the power back.”
Look-out for this guys’ live show once lockdown is over. We suspect they are all class and beef. Looking forward to hearing more, in the meantime discover ‘I Feel Like You’ on Spotify:
