‘Difficult Year” is the new soothing and elegant jewel signed by Aaron Yorke, released last December and praised by BBC Radio, that defines his work as a “Songsmith of soaring vocals and sensitively crafted tunes”.
During these difficult times, when we all need cuddly moments, the Worcester-based songwriter, gives us an intimate piece that makes us reflect on the almost “unnamable” 2020, but also on painful life facts as a divorce.”Difficult Year’ sounds like the calm after the storm, it’s not a sad song, but on the opposite, it carries that good energy of rebirth that we all have experienced once in our life, when something solid and given for guaranteed disappears and we feel scared but also free and projected towards the future.
Aaron has established himself as a local artist playing venues in and around the West Midlands, supporting acts such as Leona Lewis, McFly and Tom Robinson at the famous Ronnie Scotts. He’s looking at 2021 with a new project called ‘Project 21’, where he will be releasing one song a month, whilst also performing new material both on social media and at local UK gigs.
There’s a quote that I like very much and Aaron is a good example of that – “When one door closes, another even better will open in the future.”
