The Singapore-based Australian artist Latchy has been an amazing discovery for us. The singer is pure talent and you can tell from the first listen that we’ve found a musician who can easily create a hit. The song “Soda Dream” is a simple and yet perfect radio track with Latchy’s warm vocals on top of a soft and effective instrumental, a mix the 80s vibes with groovy drums, modern synths and a really nice guitar riff.
The track seems to follow the vibes of The Weeknd but including the passion of an indie band like The 1975.
It’s crazy to think that it has been created as an experiment in lockdown and recorded between three countries with the original track laid down by Latchy in Singapore, live bass provided by Melbourne musician stalwart Kyle Goulding (Kilo) and produced/mixed by the long time collaborator Jack Arentz (Haxx, Kult Kyss) in Melbourne before being sent off to the US for mastering with Huntley Miller (Bon Iver, Zedd). Soda Dream will grow on you straight after the first chorus and you’ll find yourself singing along to it. By the time it will be over, you’ll find yourself pressing that repeat button over and over. It happened with us!
Don’t miss the chance to discover this new artist and to play his song “SODA DREAM” at your next (social distanced) party!
