‘Stiletto’ is the newest track from the eclectic alternative indie rock band Ilona Mahieu. Originally it was front singer Ilona Pointeau’s solo project but when she went to university she gathered a bunch of her friends and turned it into a band, and what an exciting sound they have created.
Ilona Mahieu have already had several of their previous singles featured on BBC Introducing South and ‘Stiletto’ – less than 3 weeks after release – made the cut too, and we aren’t surprised.
‘Stiletto’ is about that little voice that sometimes sits on a throne in your head and rule your thoughts in a pessimistic way and is inspired by the imagery of Court Jester as well as the ‘Queen Of Hearts’ which is seen in their captivating music video.
The song packs a punch of electric guitars, memorable melodies and excellent dynamics, that demonstrates the bands skilled songwriting and how well they work as a unity. With front singer Pointeau’s vocals topping the track they’ve created a truly powerful track.
‘Stiletto’ is as the band would say ”all about the drama” and we love it!
